A group has formed to build a community in Burns, TN, about 25 miles west of Nashville, TN. We are planning for 28-35 homes and a 2-acre farm, with five wooded acres to be undeveloped. We have a contract on the land which has been owned by one family for four generations. They are supportive of our plans for this community. The 15-acre parcel includes an oak tree estimated to be 500 years old, and frontage on a small stream. Private homes, a mix of single family and multi-family structures, will be clustered around shared spaces and designed to encourage interaction and social cohesion. The community will support a professional farmer and benefit from access to farm produce on site.
