Knowing that transition requires fundamental changes in how we live together on the planet, participants in this initiative seek to embody sustainable lifestyle, self-governance, energy use and food choices, to the extent possible in the city environment, through living in a shared household located in the Pacifica area. The group decides on the various elements of life in the shared household, including (but not limited to): consensus decision-making or decision by voting (or other method), allocation of daily tasks/upkeep, agreements about energy use, shared spaces, etc., food choices, meal preparation (shared or not shared), community garden, recycling, and anything else the group wants to address. The group seeks to nurture a shared culture that might include one or more of the following, in accordance with the desires of the group: arts/music, shared regular recreational activities, rituals, local volunteer service, inner work/spirituality, educational offerings to the community/business activities, or anything the group desires.
